Quartz Dragon
Quartz Dragons
Quartz Dragons are one of the nine Crystalline Dragons of Drakomere. They are associated with the Tone of Mending, the Harmony of Regeneration, and the Divine Melody. They originated in Anomella, and are associated with the Origin Ancestry, the Vespoids. Due to their association with Regeneration Magic, they are also tied to the vice of Sloth, and the virtue of Courage, as well as a secondary tie to Quetzalcoatl and the Sky, even though Ouroboros is their primary god, being god of Crystalline Dragons, thus also being related to the Earth.
Quartz Dragons are by far the most common of the Crystalline Dragons. While they originate from Anomella, they have spread far and wide throughout Drakomere, being present in every single Region. They act as historians, councillors, and artists.
They are smaller than most Dragons, about the size of a small elephant. Their bodies are asymmetric and, like all Crystalline Dragons, they physically change wildly as they age. They tend to live underground, and use their crystalline claws to burrow extremely effectively.
While Quartz Dragons are common throughout Drakomere, they are least dense in population in Anomella, their origin Region. When the (CATACLYSM) occurred, the vast majority fled to far less turbulent parts of Drakomere, leaving only a few stragglers remaining. Many of these stragglers assimilated into Zerrqa acting as both advisors, and providing aid in their mines, as well as using their natural attunement to Mending to heal injuries. Many also found their way to Zhrrq, but needing to cross through animalistic Lead Dragon territory, as well as compete with the Ephedverns located there proved to not be worth it.
Most Quartz Dragons have avoided the (Bestial Call), but a few, especially those that migrated south into the territories of Kalakwaela succumbed. A few disparate throughout the other Regions of Drakomere also gave into the call, but as a whole, Quartz Dragons tend to be fairly resistant, due to their communal nature, high numbers, and generally helpful demeanor.
