Mercury Dragons

Mercury Dragons are one of the nine Metallic Dragons of Drakomere. They are associated with the Tone of Animation, the Harmony of Evocation, and the Melody of Arcane. They originated in Steelshroud, and are associated with the Origin Ancestry, the Gnomes. Due to their association with Evocation Magic, they are also tied to the vice of Anger, and the virtue of Temperance, as well as a stronger tie to Tiamat, thus also being related to the sea. They are of a very reflective silvery color, and are extremely soft and malleable. In the vast majority of Drakomere they live life in a liquid form, only in the farthest reaches north and the farthest reaches south do they actually harden into their solid form.
Mercury Dragons originated in Steelshroud, around a large and deep pool of pure liquid mercury, far underground, in the northern forests of the Kzaa Dominance. Around this pool is the largest nation of Mercury Dragons in Drakomere, and, due to its temperature, one of the few places Mercury Dragons can exist in their solid form. Many Mercury Dragons ventured south, putting up with living in their liquid state, to join the Draconic Baronies, and founding the Mercury Barony. Mercury Dragons also have only a single Allokin, Cinnabar Dragons.
Just like their unstable physical form, Mercury Dragons also tend to be less mentally stable than most sapient creatures, and easily form dependencies on substances such as tobacco or the smell of incense. However, they do have a certain mad genius about them as well in this, seeing past surface level truths. Rogue Mercury Dragons are often sought out for insight and wisdom. These Mercury sages often provide knowledge, but it usually comes with a price, leaving one with irritability, unnatural shyness, insomnia, fatigue, or depression, as well as usually one of the five senses being impaired. Those granted this knowledge as well as the ailments, are referred to as the Mercurial.
Mercury Dragons are one of the fastest and most agile dragons, partially due to their liquid nature, and can survive very well underwater. Because of this Mercury Dragons often are used as errant messengers when magical means are inapplicable or inadvisable.
Mercury Dragons also seem to have some sense of the ailments a creature is struggling with, and often have a passion to help physical injuries or sicknesses, but need to be careful as to not worsen the issues via mercury poisoning.
Overall Mercury Dragons are often very compassionate and empathetic messengers, healers, and hermits, but with the ever present danger of harming those they are trying to help more than actually being able to help them.

Cinnabar Dragons

Cinnabar Dragons are the only Allokin of Mercury Dragons, often residing near volcanoes and hot springs. They are always solid, unlike their cousins, and they are often very conscientious about their appearance and their environments. There are decently sized colonies of Cinnabar Dragons around the three volcanoes in Stellar Siege and the volcano in the Stonebloom Plateau, though these Cinnabar Dragons have minor conflicts and contentions with the Tin Dragons that reside there as well. They are much less toxic to the common folk, than their Mercury cousins, and also have an odd sense of respect for the dead and burial.
