Letters

The following indicates what sounds letters and the diacritics on said letters represent in the romanization (standard english writing) of the following constructed languages.

"Familiar" Sounds

The following are sounds that a native English speaker would automatically recognize and how they are standardly written. A/a = a, as in “apple” Aa/aa = aw, as in “all” B/b = b, as in “bee” D/d = d, as in “don’t” E/e = eh, as in “men” Ie/ie = ee, as in “leave” Ae/ae = ey, as in “they” F/f = f, as in “for” G/g = g, as in “gone” H/h = h, as in “hole” I/i = ih, as in “in” AI/ai = y, as in "why” J/j = j, as in “joke” K/k = k, as in “Kind” L/l = l, as in “Lore” M/m = m, as in “Mom” N/n = n, as in “no” O/o = o, as in “bond” Oe/oh = oh, as in “stone” P/p = p, as in “prone” R/r = r, as in “roll” S/s = s, as in “Soon” T/t = t, as in “Turn” U/u = uh, as in “run” Oo/oo = oo, as in “spoon” Ou/ou = oo, as in “look” V/v = v, as in “very” W/w = w, as in “wall” Z/z = z, as in “zone” Ch/ch = ch, as in “cherry” Sh/sh = sh, as in “shore” Ng/ng = ng, as in “Long” Th/th = th, as in “thing” Dh/dh - th, as in “That”

Non-Familiar Sounds

Q/q = a k sound at the back of the throat (Hear it here) ‘ = a click made with the tongue on the hard ridged roof of the mouth behind the teeth (Hear it here) “ = a click made with the sides of the mouth, think the sound Varicks or Trench make (Hear it here) ) = a click made just behind the tongue, the sound you make to show disapproval, often written as tsk tsk (Hear it here) ( = a click made at the smooth back of the mouth, the sound you make to mimic a horse clopping (Hear it here) KH/kh = makes a back of the throat gurgling sound (Heart it here) - = the small catch of air, the little break in between the syllables of uh-oh R/r = it can also mean a tap of the tongue, like in the word butter, you don’t say the hard t sound, instead you tap your tongue softly, which "r" used will be clarified in each individual conlang.
