= Girgin =
Girgin is a nation to the south west of Stormwood, located in the taiga. It's borders reach from the mountains bordering Shatlis in the north, to the mountains bordering Tairien in the south, which is about 2200 miles top to bottom, or roughly the distance from Los Angeles, California, to Dease Lake, British Columbia.<br>
Girgin is a Monarchic Theocracy, ruled by Nobles, Ogres who have Ogryssalized into Aegises. These Nobles are served by a court of Slave-Priests who act as servants and advisors made up of Ogres who have Ogryssalized into Sages. Finally both of these groups live above the common, Ogres who Ogryssalize into Brutes.<br>
Their religion has three sibling Ogre gods, an older brother referred to as the War-Dog, a Brute, and two younger twin sisters. The God-Queen, an Aegis is the primary god of the religion, and her twin, the Shackled-Sister, a Sage is often viewed as the least of the three deities. <br>
The people of Girgin, primarily due to indoctrination, are very xenophobic, with their majority population being [[Ogre|Ogres]] (~82%), however there are a decent number of [[Hathinn]] (~12%) and [[Croaken]] (~5%) who are surprisingly accepted given their heavy xenophobia, however they are only really prevelant in [CITY NAME], the most progressive, both religiously, and socially, as well as politically. There are also disperate Misc. Lineages (>1%).<br>
There is a constitutional Form-Price in Girgin, where whenever one Ogryssalizes, they must pay a tithe to the God-Queen's Church, going up in price based on the form taken. Brute is the cheapest, being almost nothing, only about a week's wages for the common man, followed by Sage, being seen as both an honor and a yoke, with Aegis being the most expensive, as to keep the nobility "in power".<br>
While the Aegises in nobility "rule", in truth they are moreso figureheads, with the Slave-Priests ruling as a cabal in the shadows, this is not common knowledge, both in Girgin itself, as well as Drakomere as a whole, with only the most powerful and influential Slave-Priests and Nobles readily knowing the truth.<br>
It is seen as anathema to Ogryssalize more than once, so much so that those in Girgin who seem to be reaching the point of their second Ogryssalization, they have a magical collar placed on them which blocks their body from forming an Ogryssalis. Those who do Ogryssalize a second, or, Queen forbid a ''third'' time, are either entirely socially shunned, or potentially even banished or killed, depending on the situation and the temperament of the Nobles in power, and of course the secret will of the Slave-Priests.
